30th Anniversary Special of Sister Act 2 on The View
In a career highlight, Ja'Michael had the incredible opportunity to perform alongside the original cast of Sister Act 2 for the 30th Anniversary special on ABC's The View. Sharing the stage with legends like Whoopi Goldberg, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kathy Najimy, Ja'Michael and his college friends joined in a powerful rendition of "Joyful, Joyful." This special episode aired on June 5, 2025.
Ja'Michael was invited to take part in this memorable event due to a viral lip-sync video created with friends at UT Austin in December 2013. The performance caught the attention of the show's producers, leading to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the stage with the original cast of the beloved film.
The special took an even more exciting turn when Whoopi Goldberg announced that Sister Act 3 is officially in development, with the screenplay being written by Jordan Cooper, the brilliant mind behind Broadway's Ain't No Mo' and BET's The Ms. Pat Show.
Reflecting on the experience, Ja'Michael describes it as a magical day—a true celebration of art, friendship, and the enduring legacy of Sister Act.
